We're cultivating a strong development team, so you'll learn on an ongoing basis from your seasoned peers. Since 1985 HMS has focused exclusively on the healthcare industry; we have partnered with more than 45 Medicaid agencies, other state health programs, and more than 50 government-sponsored healthcare plans to help them recover billions of dollars, and save billions more through cost avoidance. The driving force behind our success is our employees -- knowledgeable, innovative, and results-oriented professionals who provide unparalleled customer service.

- 7 to 10 years of proven experience designing the architecture of Data Warehousing and BI solutions in a multi-terabyte environment.
- Solid understanding of and experience with ETL methodologies, business intelligence, and data warehouse principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures including concepts, designs, and usage of data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores.
- Expert working knowledge of dimensional and relational modeling.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of MS-SQL 2008+, MSAS, SSRS, SSIS and MDX.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in an agile environment.
- Outstanding communication skills and a proven ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouse/BI solutions within the healthcare industry; working knowledge of healthcare business processes and KPIs is highly desirable
- Familiarity with.NET 4.0 and Crystal Reports.
- Strong process modeling experience.
- Experience developing and rolling out meta data management processes.
- Experience developing and rolling out data governance processes.
- SharePoint experience, as well as familiarity with Biz Talk is a plus.
What's in It for You
Broad impact -- this initiative is well defined, but you will quickly execute and "own" the project as you become a leading player, interacting with people and working with data from all areas of the organization. You'll be involved in a variety of projects, including ensuring robust ETL processes to handle data from multiple sources.
Autonomy and support -- while we'll look to you to achieve your goals with minimal supervision, the Development team has a strong sense of collaboration and a do-what-it-takes work ethic. We get our orders from the business owners, but it's up to us to come up with innovative solutions. We believe everyone has the right to voice their opinion and we foster a democratic decision-making process where you'll get to manage upwards and downwards in different situations.
Professional development -- this role isn't limited to one or two areas. Everyone contributes to a variety of challenges. We're software agnostic, choosing the right tool for the job, so we all learn from each other on an ongoing basis. One constant is that the pace is fast.
Work hard, play hard culture -- we're passionate about what we do and work long hours, but at the same time, we have a lot of fun together during and outside of work.
Career advancement -- we're hiring now with an eye on the future, looking for impact players who can grow with us. You will be well positioned to evolve your career along multiple directions, depending on your ambition and aptitude.
Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and bonus potential, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with generous employer match, flexible spending plans, and much more.
Keys to Success
Your technical expertise will be invaluable, of course, but you also will need a thorough understanding of the nuances of healthcare data and the role DW plays in achieving business goals. You'll showcase a collaborative approach to driving consensus among people who may have conflicting views. We'll also look to you to remain willing to "wear multiple hats" in our lean, agile environment. And finally, you'll take your work seriously, but not yourself as you keep a sense of humor handy and inject levity in stressful situations.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, and you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to hear from you!
