Why HMS

Visible impact -- when we were evaluating solutions, Archer was presented to all of our senior executives, so the tool is well known and this initiative is being watched closely. Your successes will be noticed.

Score some quick wins -- we've had Archer for a little over a year and we're at the point where you can implement some tangible results. For example, we'll look to you to release and support policy management tools (they're already mapped and integrated). We'd also like to implement risk management questionnaires for third party vendors; if you have the aptitude and experience, you could play a role in this effort.

Great culture -- within Security Services we've created a comfortable environment and a team that enjoys working with one another. We often go to lunch together, and you'll hear plenty of laughter in our area. In addition, we support our people's efforts to grow professionally (after all, helping you get better is how we get better), such as paying for re-certifications and other educational activities.

Stability and growth -- you'll join a stable and respected industry leader with more than 25 years of success and revenues over $302 million in 2010. Our 2010 revenues represented a 24% increase over those of 2009, and HMS was ranked 10th on Fortune's 2010 list of "100 Fastest-Growing Companies." This an environment in which strong performers can chart a fulfilling career.

Recession-resistant industry -- in general healthcare has remained robust in spite of the economy. The future looks promising as well: Medicaid and Medicare budgets are growing (the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services predicts current Medicare/Medicaid spending levels to double by 2015) and, with billions of dollars at stake, there is a strong emphasis among policy leaders (and the voting public) on cost containment and payment accuracy. HMS is taking advantage of this climate to expand.

Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and discretionary bonus potential, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with generous employer match, flexible spending plans, and much more.

Keys to Success

This is not a role for a "paper tiger;" you will need genuine heads-down programming and administrative experience with Archer, as your focus will be on execution -- getting from user requirements to working solution. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Archer Engineer, you will:
  • Bring a collaborative approach to working with users and other stakeholders, but also have the assertiveness to set realistic expectations.
  • Derive satisfaction from working through the RAD process, figuring things out, learning from mistakes, and driving to results.
  • Bring a down-to-earth attitude, and truly enjoy interacting and communicating with others as you collaborate to achieve goals.
  • Look for ways to expedite the process of releasing Archer tools to the user community, and help "market" these value-adding tools.
